WATSU Therapy

How does it work?

WATSU® therapy is done in a heated pool. The water is heated to 35 degrees celsius, which is close to the same temperature as your body. During a session, the therapist gently moves your body in the water. This is known as passive hydrotherapy, because you don’t need to actively perform the movements or follow any given instructions.

Your therapist is in the water with you. They move your body in specific motions, which may include:

  • gentle twisting
  • rocking or cradling
  • stretching
  • massaging pressure points

The goal is to release tightness in your muscles and fascia tissue. It’s also helps  to promote a healthy flow of energy within the body. WATSU is typically done in a peaceful setting to increase relaxation and deep somatic nervous system reset.
